Drilless, Shotless dentistry done by Dr. Shuster
This is an article that was written about our office some time ago. It
says something like "they were the first office in the free world to
have this technology (paraphrase) I don't know that the newspaper was
entirely accurate there, but we usually are "early adopters" of proven
technologies regardless of what anyone else is commonly doing.
We are always studying and, well, purchasing "the best that modern
dentistry has to offer" in an effort to treat you like family and give
you the best there is. This air abrasion equipment pictured here, cost
us a tad more and is noticeably better. People really do comment that
it is painless and easy. This technique is for early detection
fillings and does cause fillings to have about 30% better bond strenths
than conventional techniques. A truly fabulous technique for little
children, or adults that feel like little kids when in the dental
environment. With this machine, and advanced bonding techniques we can
make white fillings that are thin as thread WITHOUT SHOTS OR DRILLS. I
personally have done tens of thousands of white fillings, and the
experience I've gained in over 20 years, all goes to bat for you if you
need this sort of treatment. Soon we will have an "Early Detection" article on this site, under the section called Treatment Options . The techniques for
early detection are pivotal, and critical to the best care. Look for
that section by the end of November (cool photography coming).
What is it like to be a patient at Dr. Shuster's office? What kind of equipment and technology does Dr. Shuster use? This article that appeared in the Daily Courier will give you a fresh perspective.
Excerpt from the Courier Article
"What's this? The only sound from the drill is a small whirring noise as quiet as a whisper. There are no minute chips of enamel spitting from your injured tooth and no numbing shot of Novocain... Working like a miniature sandblaster, the powder gently sprays the decayed area away without any tools or drill bits coming into contact wiht the tooth..."
